The problem is that all this infection can create an enormous amount of inflammation around the body, affecting many organs, most notably the kidneys which, amongst other things, removes toxins from your dogs body.

Regularly cleaning your dogs teeth is the most important factor to preventing dental disease – sadly over the years I have seen many elderly dogs in great discomfort with their mouths, despite continuing to eat. Many get so elderly that it is not safe to go under a general anesthetic – its certainly no fun for the dog or their owner.
